This month I am excited to have had the opportunity to interview Penny Sansevieri, CEO and founder of Author Marketing Experts, Inc. I had the pleasure of meeting with Penny while at BlogHer this year in New York City and also last year in Chicago following her participation as an expert on the panel of book publishing. Let me tell you a little bit about her…
Penny is a best-selling author and internationally recognized book marketing and media relations expert. She is an Adjunct Professor teaching Self-Publishing for NYU. Her company is one of the leaders in the publishing industry and has developed some of the innovative Social Media/Internet book marketing campaigns. She is the author of five books, including Red Hot Internet Publicity which has been called the “leading guide to everything Internet”. AME is the first marketing and publicity firm to use Internet promotion to its full impact through The Virtual Author Tour™, which strategically works with social networking sites, Twitter, blogs, book videos, and relevant sites to push an authors message into the virtual community and connect with sites related to the book’s topic, positioning the author in his or her market. AME has had ten recent books top the bestseller lists including New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal.
Impressive credentials, but what really makes our conversation worth your time is the lively discussion we had around making the leap from employee to business owner. We talked at length about Penny’s background and what it was like for her to make the move from corporate to entrepreneur. If you are an author or aspiring author, you will not want to miss our conversation either. Learn about the biggest challenges authors face in these changing times in the publishing industry and what you need to know. Most importantly you’ll hear a very inspiring story Penny shares that will remind all of us of why it is so very critical to do work you love and make your own unique contribution to the world. The story she shares will bring a lump to your throat and a few tears to your eyes. It certainly brought one to mine. (This is a good thing in my book! ) But, you’ll have to listen in to hear it for yourself.
